Tay Tse

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you are doing currently?
My name is Tay and I work in the healthcare industry. I do various types of volunteer work with HandsOn Hong Kong. As a volunteer leader for three special schools, I mostly help in school outings.

What drives you to volunteer for the community?
There are many people in need across the community. Spending time with them is the most effective way to give back to the community. Also, the happy moments and connections we create act as a reinforcement that keep me going.

What is the impact of your volunteer work?
By spending time with different beneficiaries, I become a co-creator of happiness together with them. Participating in volunteer works brings big impacts to myself too. It lets and makes me experience more, reflect more and feel more..

How did you first get in touch with HandsOn Hong Kong?
My colleague introduced the website of HandsOn Hong Kong to me. The variety of volunteering opportunities and the clean interface of the website was impressive. It is easy to register and manage my volunteering opportunities.

Can you share an interesting story or touching moment you had in your volunteering experience with HandsOn Hong Kong?
There are tons of unforgettable moments. One of the most encouraging things is that how physically disabled children overcome their physical barriers in outings. Although they may be physically disabled, their strong curiosities and desires drive them to actively participate in outings. We may think that they have lower energy but they just don’t get tired. I am impressed by their energy and it lifts me up too.

Be the Change. Volunteer.
