Christina Noble Children's Foundation
The Christina Noble Children’s Foundation CNCF is a charity that provides shelter and education for children in need in Vietnam and Mongolia. The CNCF has helped over 500,000 children since its inception in 1989. The Hong Kong office for CNCF supports the operations in Vietnam and Mongolia through fundraising, education and outreach.
CNCF Hong Kong is looking for volunteers to help in the Hong Kong office and, whilst all enquires are welcome, CNCF is currently trying to fill two roles. First, CNCF needs a native English speaker with good writing skills to support our Corporate Liaison Team. Second, we are looking for a volunteer to support our Schools Liaison Team. The ideal volunteer for this position will have children in the local or international Hong Kong school and be comfortable approaching school contacts.

Earthpulse Foundation
Earthpulse Foundation is looking for a volunteer to translate English texts into French for a multimedia exhibition entitled 'Mothers and Daughters: Impression and Voices of Marginalized Women in China'. The aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness and funds to support marginalized women and girls from remote villages in frontier provinces in China, including Heilongjiang, Ningxia, and Yunnan. Bethune House Sewing Skills
Bethune House is looking for women with sewing experience. In particular, volunteers are needed to teach the women of Bethune House basic sewing skills, including pattern design, cutting material and using sewing machines.
The Bethune House’s contribution to the migrants’ community as well as to Hong Kong society is immeasurable. Aside from shelter, which is its core program, it provides paralegal counseling to the residents who have labor claims, immigration and police cases against their employers. Those who are deeply traumatized are referred to the St. John’s Counseling Service professional help. Bethune House also offers Cantonese and English language lessons, handicraft making as well as know your rights training to its residents.

Chungking Mansions Service Centre
The Chungking Mansions Service Centre provides much needed services to individuals and families seeking refugee and asylum status. The charity is seeking volunteers to help in the following ways:
- Teach music (particularly drum and guitar) at a new music class. Schedule of classes will be mostly determined by availability of volunteer teachers.
- Help with a new art therapy class. Schedule of classes will be mostly determined by availability of volunteer teachers.
- Teach pre-school age children. Volunteers are needed to teach these children basic alphabet, shapes, size, colors, etc.
- Teach English to refugees and asylum seekers. The English class takes place every Saturday from 12pm - 2pm. Volunteers are required to commit to the class on a rotational basis.
- Help as an Indonesian interpreter (paid on an hourly rate).

HOPE For Children
Since HOPE For Children was registered as a charity in 1994, it has helped hundreds of thousands of children in some thirty countries, working with concerned local individuals and groups. HOPE is enjoying its 15th anniversary, with local registration in Hong Kong in its 6th year. HOPE is a low cost, no frills charity - saying every public cent in the dollar being donated goes straight to the beneficiaries - unique to the charity world!

Asian Charity Services
Asian Charity Services (ACS) is a registered nonprofit organization aimed at empowering and equipping nonprofits to expand their organizational capacity and achieve excellence in their standards and operations so as to maximize positive impact on people, communities and nations. ACS helps build other charities' capacity through consultancy and workshop trainings.
ACS will be running a volunteer project (consisting of 3 workshops) to help Hong Kong charities develop their strategic plan and we are looking for Volunteer Consultants to work with these charities. The volunteers will be a ssigned to a Charity Client to assist in developing the plan in this 6-week Project (Jan-Feb) managed by ACS.
The workshops are on 7 January (Thur), 21 January (Thur) and 4 February (Thur) from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The volunteers will work in a small team and a volunteer training session will be provided to equip them in consulting. Po Leung Kuk
Po Leung Kuk is looking for English-speaking volunteers to help on a regular basis with its kindergarten classes. Volunteers will be needed at various locations in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories on Saturday mornings between November 2009 and May 2010. The purpose is to create an authentic English-speaking environment for the children to practice English, as the children in these classes are native to Hong Kong and have few opportunities to meet with English-speaking volunteers.

Hong Kong Refugee Advice Centre
The Hong Kong Refugee Advice Centre Ltd. (“HKRAC”) provides free legal advice and representation to asylum-seekers who seek refugee status with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (“UNHCR”) in Hong Kong. We also generate awareness regarding refugee rights and advocate for the protection and promotion of those rights.
HKRAC is currently seeking interns on the management and strategy side of our organization. This would involve work developing our brand, PR materials, fundraising efforts, events planning, business practices, donor relations, local and regional awareness raising and advocacy efforts, etc.
Development & Fundraising
Development & Fundraising interns work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Development on organizational development activities. Responsibilities may include the development of fundraising proposals (grants, corporate sponsorship, annual giving drives, endowment, etc.), capacity building and strategic development, donor relations, networking, etc.
Events
Volunteers on the Event Committee will plan and organize the HKRAC annual reception, help develop an annual signature event that serves to raise funds and generate positive visibility, and organize regular smaller events to raise awareness and funds.
Press & Publicity
Press & Publicity Volunteers will develop and promote HKRAC's "brand." This may include creating promotional materials and fact sheets, building up press contacts and creating press packets, and raising awareness about the rights and needs of refugees. Volunteers may also engage in outreach and public presentations as requested by the Executive Director.
Information Technology (IT)
The HKRAC was recently the recipient of new technology hardware from the Clinton Global Initiative. IT Volunteers will help HKRAC leverage its technology resources, develop databases for casework and institutional needs, and/or assist in website development and maintenance.

Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement (JA) Hong Kong is seeking volunteers for some of its programs, including JA's "It's My Business!" program. Volunteers should have 2 or more years of work experience and an interest in interacting with young people, primarily secondary school students. Nesbitt Centre
The Nesbitt Centre provides educational programming (in English) to adults with learning disabilities. The Centre also offers residential and respite services, in order to help them achieve independence and development of their own potential within the community. The Centre is looking for volunteers to accompany students to work placements. This is usually on a one to one basis and transportation costs would be provided. Watchdog Early Learning and Development Centre
Watchdog Early Learning and Development Centre is a charity serving special needs children in Hong Kong. Watchdog provides a variety of educational services in Cantonese and English to children under 6 with learning disabilities. Hong Kong Council of Early Childhood Education and Services
The Hong Kong Council of Early Childhood Education and Services (CECES) provides educational services to underprivileged and special needs children in Hong Kong. CECES is in need of a number of volunteers to help with its English classes in Kowloon beginning in March. Volunteers should be either native or fluent English speakers. CECES prefers volunteers commit to several classes, but can be flexible depending volunteers' schedules. For more information, click here. Hands On Hong Kong
Hands On is looking for individuals interested in helping coordinate regular and one-off volunteer activities. We are looking for coordinators for a number of new and existing activities during the week and weekends.
While the time commitment is minimal, Hands On Volunteer Project Coordinators provide a valuable service. Coordinators act as the primary contact for the volunteers who sign up for a specific activity. They attend the volunteer activity to ensure it runs smoothly and report attendance and feedback to Hands On.

Trade Without Borders (TWB) is a new organization that enables streamlined, accountable, and traceable product procurement by non-governmental organizations. Enrich
Enrich is a training organization that runs personal finance and confidence- building training for ethnic minority and migrant women in Hong Kong. Enrich is looking for a Bahasa speaking trainer to run workshops. Training sessions are held about once or twice a month, usually on a Sunday. The ideal trainer will be someone with experience in teaching, community work or personal finance and women's empowerment and who is motivated to support migrant workers.
