Make Handicrafts with the Women of Bethune House

Description: Help the residents of Bethune House to make cross-stitch cards, cloth aprons and bags, and beaded jewellery. These items will be sold to raise funds for Bethune House. Experience not essential. Please note that this activity is open to female volunteers only. English and Cantonese speakers welcome.

Location: Kowloon. You will receive directions prior to the activity.

Time: 10:30am - 1:00pm

Age: 18 and up

Language: English or Cantonese

Bethune House

Partner overview: 
Bethune House has served as a temporary shelter for displaced and distressed domestic helpers (of any nationality) for more than 22 years. It provides food and sleeping accommodations, paralegal assistance, counseling and skills training enhancement (e.g., handy crafts, to its residents). Bethune House looks after the welfare of these helpers while they are awaiting the resolution of their cases.
