HandsOn seeks a Corporate Program Intern

Job summary:

Our Corporate Program Intern will mainly support the Community Engagement team that runs our bespoke corporate programs and fundraising events. They will report to our Director of Development and Corporate Partnerships and Program Mangers from our Community Engagement team.

Internship period:

This internship role can be filled at anytime throughout the year, outside of the summer months (July to August). We prefer candidates who are available for at least 8 consecutive weeks and able to support for a minimum of 2 days per week.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide support for several major HandsOn Hong Kong events/fundraising initiatives specifically ‘Hike for Hong Kong’, ‘Drink for Good’ and ‘Sideways 24 Hour Race’.

  • Manage communications with event participants including invitations, confirmations and reminders;

  • Drive logistical arrangements for the events including applying for permits, booking coaches , preparing event rundowns and delivering event packs;

  • Support the HandsOn team on-site at these events;

  • Support the Community Engagement team on an ad hoc basis including drafting Impact Reports, writing up meeting notes and updating outcome sheets;

  • May also help to drive planning and logistical arrangements for corporate volunteer programs including applying for permits, booking coaches and preparing activity rundowns;

  • Develop and maintain HOHK database of corporate contacts.

Job requirements:

All members of the HOHK team need to be passionate about community involvement and fully committed to our mission. You must be organized, dependable and able to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal supervision. Enthusiasm and a “can-do spirit” are essential for this internship.
Specific skills required include:

  • Be able to work independently;

  • Be proficient in computer application (including Microsoft Office, English and Chinese word processing if possible);

  • Have good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese—translation skills preferred.
