HandsOn seeks a Marketing & Communications Intern.

Job summary:

Our Marketing & Communications Intern will support all of HandsOn Hong Kong’s communications efforts—reporting to the Head of Communications.

Internship period:

September 2019 onwards – preferred 2-3 days per week. Internship period and work arrangement flexible and open to discussion.  

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing HandsOn Hong Kong website content including translation, copy development and image updating;

  • Drafting and scheduling content for social media posts across all HandsOn platforms, in keeping with our established tone and voice;

  • Assisting with the planning, content development and scheduling of monthly HandsOn newsletters sent to our database of 22,000 contacts;

  • Assist with the production of the 2019 HandsOn Annual Report including research, compiling content, image searching and using Illustrator software to make basic layout updates;

  • Help to maintain a database of volunteer, NGO, marketing and corporate contacts;

  • Support the HandsOn team as needed both in preparation for—and on-site at—volunteer programs.

Job requirements:

All members of the HOHK team need to be passionate about community involvement and fully committed to our mission. You must be organized, dependable and able to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal supervision. Enthusiasm and a “can-do spirit” are essential for this internship.
Specific skills required include:

  • Be able to work independently;

  • Be proficient in computer application (including Microsoft Office, English and Chinese word processing if possible);

  • Experience using Illustrator design software a big advantage;

  • Have a good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese—translation skills preferred.
