HandsOn seeks an Intern, to support Serve-a-thon—our community service week
Job summary:
Our Serve-a-thon Intern will support the whole HandsOn Hong Kong team in preparation for our annual community service week, Serve-a-thon (May 4th – 12th 2019). They will report jointly to our Head of Communications and the Program Managers from our Corporate Community Engagement team.
Internship period:
Start of March to end of May 2019 – 2-3 days per week. Internship period and work arrangement flexible and open to discussion.
Key roles and responsibilities:

Managing the Serve-a-thon website including translation and content, logo and image updating;

Liaison with Serve-a-thon NGO participants, volunteers, marketing partners and sponsors as required via email, phone and in-person;

Support the adaptation of key Serve-a-thon collaterals including proposals, presentations and marketing pieces (ie. banners, flyers and print ads);

Drive logistical arrangements for corporate volunteer programs during Serve-a-thon including applying for permits, booking coaches, preparing activity rundowns and delivering event packs;

Support the HandsOn team on-site at Serve-a-thon events;

Develop and maintain Serve-a-thon database of volunteer, NGO, marketing and corporate contacts.
Job requirements:
All members of the HOHK team need to be passionate about community involvement and fully committed to our mission. You must be organized, dependable and able to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal supervision. Enthusiasm and a “can-do spirit” are essential for this internship.
Specific skills required include:

Be able to work independently;

Be proficient in computer application (including Microsoft Office, English and Chinese word processing if possible. Experience using Illustrator design software a big advantage);

Have good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese—translation skills preferred.
