Volunteer Service Executive

The Volunteer Service Executive for HandsOn Hong Kong (HOHK) oversees the recruitment, management and recognition of volunteers and volunteer leaders. They will help to execute community service programs that support 100 NGO partners and provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for the public. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for community involvement and a strong belief in the HandsOn mission to serve groups in need of support.

Main duties

  • Support the management and coordination of the HOHK monthly calendar of volunteer programs supporting NGO partners (up to 150 per month)

  • Regularly attend and assess volunteer programs to build relationships with regular volunteers and engage potential volunteer leaders

  • Drive the recruitment, onboarding and training of new volunteer leaders

  • Support volunteers and volunteer leaders with training and use of a new HOHK mobile application for service activity management

  • Manage HOHK’s volunteer recognition program including appreciation events, orientation sessions and development opportunities

  • Assist with the management of HOHK’s youth empowerment program including driving school and university partnerships, participating in talks and promoting youth and family volunteer opportunities

  • Conduct regular assessment of HOHK volunteer data to uncover trends and analysis that will guide future volunteer recruitment strategies

  • Liaise closely with the Associate Director regarding volunteer recruitment needs and programs for spotlighting

  • Oversee annual volunteer survey and obtain continual feedback throughout the year

  • Mentor and supervise freelance staff and interns as needed

  • Assist and support HOHK programs, reporting and fundraising, for events such as Serve-a-thon, Hike for Hong Kong, Drink for Good and the annual report


  • 2 years of professional work experience

  • Passion for community involvement and commitment to HOHK’s mission of service

  • A capable communicator with strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

  • Desire to motivate and recognize the work of volunteers

  • Written and spoken Cantonese and English required
