Founded in 2007, HandsOn Hong Kong is a hub for volunteers and NGOs that provide both quality volunteer opportunities and high quality volunteers. With one in five people in Hong Kong living below the poverty line, there is a great need in our city for volunteers to help serve those in need. To do so, we connect local organizations to the volunteer manpower they desperately need and provide volunteers with a diverse range of volunteer initiatives through reliable, trusted NGOs and their beneficiaries.

With the mission to mobilize and empower our community to meet pressing social needs in Hong Kong through volunteer services, HandsOn Hong Kong offers a wide variety of flexible and meaningful volunteer opportunities benefiting a wide range of causes and disadvantaged groups including children, elderly people, migrants, refugees, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.

HandsOn Hong Kong is an affiliate organization of global HandsOn Network with more than 370 affiliates around the world. In Asia, HandsOn Network has affiliates in China, India, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, and South Korea. HandsOn Hong Kong is also affilated with HKCSSWiseGiving and UNGC.

HOHK seeks a Event Executive Intern.

Job summary:

Event Executive Intern will mainly play an organizational and coordination role within HOHK’s team, especially with the Head of Development and Communications on events organization and execution.

Key roles and responsibilities:

Event Coordination

  • Support in the organization of any fundraising and brand building initiatives;
  • Develop and maintain HOHK database of contacts;
  • Develop and maintain the list of existing events HOHK could possibly partner with;
  • Develop and maintain the list of grants/foundations HOHK could possibly apply for;
  • Develop and maintain the list of corporates HOHK could possibly reach to.

Job requirements:

All members of the HOHK team need to be passionate about community involvement and fully committed to our mission. You must be organized, dependable and able to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal supervision. Enthusiasm and a “can-do spirit” are essential for this internship.
Specific skills required include:

  • Be able to work independently;
  • Be proficient in computer application (including Microsoft Office, English and Chinese word processing if possible);
  • Have good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese;
  • Be available at least two days a week for a minimum period of two months
