HandsOn seeks a Fundraising Events Intern. 

Job summary:

Our Fundraising Events Intern will mainly support the Community Engagement team that runs our fundraising events. They will report to our Director of Development and Corporate Partnerships who oversees our fundraising events.

Internship period:

Beginning in June to August 2020. We prefer candidates who are available for at least 10 consecutive weeks and able to support for a minimum of 2 days per week.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Provide support for several major HandsOn Hong Kong events and fundraising initiatives such as ‘Serve-a-thon’

  • Manage communications with event participants including invitations, confirmations, reminders and inquiries;

  • Drive logistical arrangements for the events including applying for permits, preparing event rundowns, procuring materials, and delivering event packs;

  • Support the HandsOn team on-site at these events;

  • Support the Community Engagement team on an ad hoc basis including drafting Impact Reports, writing up meeting notes and updating outcome sheets;

  • Develop and maintain HOHK database of corporate contacts.

Job requirements:

All members of the HOHK team need to be passionate about community involvement and fully committed to our mission. You must be organized, dependable and able to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks with minimal supervision. Enthusiasm and a “can-do spirit” are essential for this internship.
Specific skills required include:

  • Be able to work independently;

  • Be proficient in computer application (including Microsoft Office, English and Chinese word processing if possible);

  • Have a good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese—translation skills preferred.
