NGO mission and description of organization’s work

ImpactHK is a charity helping the homeless in Hong Kong. We support the homeless with kindness and empowering them for change. Everyday ImpactHK is on the streets building friendship and trust with the people we serve, seeking to show them a future that is more promising than the present and to demonstrate that they always have someone to count on. ImpactHK believes in using multiple and varied opportunities for connection to empower individuals for change.

Friendship will always be ImpactHK’s most important focus. Everyone needs a friend they can trust. We’ve seen exactly how the trust we’ve built has enabled individuals who were on the streets, facing life and death situations daily, to transition to healthy and happy lives. We are on the ground every day with those in need. ImpactHK empowers individuals in need with multiple connections including housing, employment, counselling, mentorship, nutrition, sports and education.

In the Guestroom, our day centre for the homeless, we serve almost 2,000 meals a week and build one-on-one relationships with the people in need. We are proud to say we are one of a few organizations serving the homeless community during COVID-19 outbreaking in Hong Kong. Your kind donations will be used to serve meals for the homeless. Your donations will also support us to buy hygiene products including face masks which our dedicated volunteers pass out on the streets every day on the Kindness Walks.

Impact of skills-based volunteer support on NGO and mission

ImpactHK has decided to engage in a Salesforce NPSP implementation to better service their donors, volunteers and most crucially, their beneficiaries. This project will allow us to become more efficient and track our programmes, as well as measure our impact. It will also allow us to grow more effectively and fundraise according to our needs, as well as engaging our existing donors.

To make this engagement a success we’re looking for skilled volunteers to be part of the project team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply or improve your skills while helping this cause.

Project approach + duration:

-The full project will be 3 months total. Start of the project is in May and will close end of July

-The project will be split in 3 sprints in which we’re planning to set functionality live in production

Each sprint will go through plan, design, build, test and release and will require end user training and post go-live support after each release
