The Power of Prevention to Fight Cervical & Ovarian Cancer
Description: Ovarian and Cervical cancer are among the top ten cancers causing death in Hong Kong. Every other day one women dies of cervical cancer in Hong Kong. Cervical and ovarian cancers are highly preventable when regular screenings and HPV vaccinations are integrated into health programs. Attend a luncheon to learn more about the prevention of these cancers and how you can volunteer to support the Karen Leung Foundation's in-school vaccination program for girls from low-income families.During the luncheon the following topics will be addressed:
- Learn the risk factors for gynaecological cancer
- Recognise the signs and symptoms of gynaecological cancer to detect it earlier
- Preventing cervical cancer
- Karen Leung Foundation programs to address prevention--especially with underprivileged communities
- Volunteer opportunities at Karen Leung Foundation
All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. If you wish to have a friend or family member join you on this activity, they must first register with Hands On and sign up for the activity.
