Opportunity Details
Youth Opportunity: Join the Plastic Reduction Awareness & Empowerment Program
Description: The plastic reduction program makes collection of plastic possible in Hong Kong housing estates--while also encouraging changes in our citizens' consumption of single-use plastic. The project will be launched on July 26 in Ngau Chi Wan Market to begin promoting the concept of plastic reduction and recycling in the local community. Volunteers will be helping with setting up, managing the booth on-site and answering the questions that participants may have. It would be also a recycing day if the residents have bottles at home. Residents will bring back their collected plastics to the recycling collection point. Volunteers will help with grouping the collected plastics, ensuring they are clean and suitable for recycling, carrying the recycling bins and helping participants to redeem some small gifts in exchange for their collected materials.
