Family Opportunity: Help Out with Beach Cleaning in Sam Pak Wan
Description: Plastic Free Seas is hosting a community beach cleanup. Gloves and bags will be provided. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes, bring a full reusable water bottle, sun protection and bug spray. Remarks: This activity welcomes families to sign up — children aged 5 - 15 to be accompanied by an adult. Experienced staff will be on hand to make this an interesting and educational experience for the family. Volunteers should be at least 15 years of age to attend this activity without a parent or guardian. Volunteers want to bring their children who age over 5, please create children's account and sign them up along with your registration or send us an email to HOHK@handsonhongkong.org to register. Volunteers are expected to refrain from bringing single-use items to the beach, such as disposable plastic water bottles, rain coats, etc. If you are coming from Central, take the 8.30am or 1:30pm ferry from Central Ferry Pier #3 as appropriate. Follow signs to the buses and take the T4 or the T9 to the North Plaza (last stop). If you are coming from Sunny Bay or Tung Chung MTR, note there are buses which will take you directly to the North Plaza. Click here to find out the bus schedules. If you register minimum 10 days before the event and plan to travel by ferry from Central Ferry Pier #3 to DB, your return trip will be free of charge if arrangements are made ahead of time. You will receive the details within a week of the event by email. The free ferry ride must be used on the same day as the beach cleanup. Note that this is a trial offer for Community Beach Cleanups until March. Upon arrival at the beach, let the staff know that you are with HandsOn Hong Kong.
