Youth Opportunity: Help Out at Animal Shelter—Sai Kung Stray Friends
Description: With many dogs awaiting adoption at the Sai Kung Stray Friends at any given time, volunteers are needed to help out in a number of ways, including dog walking, feeding, bathing, brushing and socialising.
Remarks: Volunteers may get dirty and smelly as it will be held at the homing centre for dogs. Please wear closed toe shoes.
Location: We strongly recommend volunteers take car to get to the Kennels.
BY CAR:
Approaching Sai Kung from Hang Hau / Clearwater Bay, there is a large roundabout at the base of Hiram’s Highway. Take the second exit towards Sai Kung. Cross over a small bridge and turn left at the first set of traffic lights towards Ho Chung. Continue for about 2km until you see a blue bridge on your left. Turn left onto the bridge (there is a sign saying ‘Private Road’, but just cross the bridge. Proceed through Tai Lam Wu village. Shortly after, you will see two large grey shell gates on the left. This is our facility.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
From Hang Hau MTR, take a Sai Kung Minibus and alight just after the roundabout at Ho Chung. From there, it’s best to take a taxi to the kennels.
Remarks: Volunteers are welcomed to stay and help after 1pm to 4:30pm. If you plan to stay until 4:30pm, please remember to bring your lunch box with you.
