Virtual storytelling Support for hearing-impaired children (Bilingual)

Each volunteer joining this support-program must have attended our May 30th training session and be available to participate for three consecutive weeks, by leading one storytelling session every Saturday from June 6th to 20th.
 
In order to join this program volunteers must sign-up for all of the three-week slots below. A Zoom link will for each session will be shared by HandsOn one day before. Confirmed participants will be invited to attend a 30-minute session providing Zoom tips for this program on Thursday June 4th at 6pm. 


Volunteer roles: Two volunteers will be paired up and host a storytelling session for three to four children with hearing-imparied once per week. They will provide social connection and empower these children with confidence in English, as they begin to return to school in the next month. 

• Each volunteer will operate in a pair—storyteller and facilitator
• Each pair supports 3-4 children
• Children will be encouraged to speak English (each pair will have a Cantonese speaker to provide support)
• Volunteers have access to 25 scanned books for their usage
• Some pre-coordination between volunteer pairs will be needed

All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. 

每個參加此計劃的義工都必須已出席我們在5月30日舉行的簡介會，並且能在連續三週的時間內，六月六日至六月二十日可以星期六為聽障同學講故事。

為了確認你參與此計劃，義工必須註冊三節服務（牽手香港員工將利用這三節服務追蹤義工的服務時數）。義工將在6月6日（星期六）首次通過Zoom進行服務。Zoom會議鏈接將會在服務之前透過電郵分享。確認參加的義工將會邀請參加六月四日六點Zoom培訓。

• 每一位義工將會配合另一位義工進行講故事環節，一位是講故事，一位是配合及輔助同學理解故事
• 每一組義工將服務三位至四位同學
• 鼓勵同學講英文
• 我們將會提供義工25本故事書參考
• 需要兩位義工服務前溝通

義工角色：義工將兩人組成一對，為三至四位聽障同學每週講故事。社區需要義工額外的支持，以幫助這些孩子在下個月開始重返校園時增強他們的口語和閱讀英語能力，並增強他們的信心。

所有參加者須為牽手‧香港會員。
