Doing handmade activities with elderly in Central
Description: With most of Hong Kong’s elderly self-isolating due to the pandemic, their daily lives and personal network have been greatly affected. Through doing traditional handmade activities together, the elderly individuals can use their self experiences and skills to share their life experiences and the history of Central and Western district with the volunteers. This strengthens the community connectedness and encourages cross-generation communications.

Centre staff and volunteers will adopt HandsOn Hong Kong COVID-19 safety precautions in-line with Centre for Health Protection guidelines. If you have any questions regarding this service, please directly email to hohk@handsonhongkong.org
All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. If you wish to have a friend or family member join you on this activity, they must first register with HandsOn and sign up for the activity.
Volunteer roles:
- Volunteers will join the handmade tutorial classes with the elderly and make flower baskets together.
- Volunteers will then form groups with the elderly individuals to play games and do the sharing.
