Urgent call out for delivering necessities to isolated elderly
Description: In mid of such a health crisis, isolated elderly now suffer from a lack of food, anxiety, and fear. Support from the larger Hong Kong community is needed to help our most vulnerable groups and the charities that support them.
Food is now in short due to the rumors- and making those elderly's life have even more struggled. The Center has decided to open 6 days to deliver the neccessities to their members. The Center has decided to open six days to deliver the necessities to the elderly, ensuring they have enough food for the possible compulsory city-wide testing.
Volunteers are needed to help assemble and deliver these Care Packages to the elderly.
Volunteer roles:
- Volunteers will receive a short briefing upon arriving at the community center.
- Volunteers will collect and pack the grocery items and other necessities from a local elderly centre.
- Maximum two volunteers will form a team to deliver care packages to the households. After leaving the package on the elderly individual’s doorstep, the volunteer will knock on the door to inform them before leaving.
- Volunteers are required to take the rapid test at home on the service day. Only with negative results are allowed to join the services. The replacement of the rapid test can be collected at the Center.
- Volunteers are required to take at least one dose of vaccination.
- Volunteers are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), which is provided by the centre.
