Serve-A-Thon: Let's Hike and Clean Up HK Trails (Family Welcome)
Description: Clean Up Hong Kong Trails (CUHKT) is a group of dedicated HK trail walkers that regularly organise clean up actions on our beautiful trails. Clean Up Hong Kong Trails currently has a number about 120 people and the group continues to expand. The walks have a lot of fun and get heaps of encouragement along the way from fellow trail walkers from near and far. The organization has completed a cleanup hike every month since October 2016 and have no intention of stopping. The walks are organized and implemented by groups of domestic helpers. If you are interested in learning more about their organization, here is a relevant report on South China Morning Post. Volunteers are expected to help clean the trails of plastic and paper. Participants should be capable, and come prepared, for trail walking. They should bring water and snacks/lunch with them. Plastic bags, gloves, etc. will be provided. Session 1: On June 19th, volunteers will gather at Exit C2 of Diamond Hill MTR Station at 9:10 am. The route is Little Hawaii Trail (map for the starting point on June 19th). Session 2: On June 26th, volunteers will gather at Exit A3 of Tai Po MTR station at 9:30 am. The route is at Ma Shi Chau (map for the starting point on June 26th). This activity welcomes families to sign up — children aged 10 or above have to be accompanied by an adult. Given the current COVID-19 situation and required physical capacity to walk through the trail, volunteers should use their own judgement for whether this is appropriate for their children. All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. If you wish to have a friend or family member join you on this activity, they must first register with Hands On and sign up for the activity.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 10+, Minimum Age:10+
