Serve-a-thon 2018 took place from May 5th to 13th! This one-week volunteering 'marathon' brought together NGOs, corporates, schools, civic organizations, government and media to roll up their sleeves and volunteer. The aim was to raise public awareness around the importance of community service to help address social issues.

Volunteers across Hong Kong came together to donate their time—more than 6,000 hours—to serve 18,099 people in need in just one week. These outcomes reinforce to us that Hong Kong really welcomes this moment in time each year that we all come together to serve!

Last year's Serve-a-thon mobilized the community to give more than 2,700 hours of their time and talent to support 15,000+ of Hong Kong's most in need. Volunteer activities focused on addressing issues such as alleviating poverty, educating children, assisting the elderly, empowering people with disabilities, feeding the poor, animal welfare, environmental conservation and more. For more information, check out
